There are over one hundred thousand localities in Rhône-Alpes. This grammar filed over the works and days reflects a real scattered, submerged and forgotten today. These hundred thousand localities are all fragmentary, incomplete, but stubborn stories of intuitive collusions, practical experiences, combinations of sensory, sensual and erotic events accumulated then left by so many people practicing this land before us. These hundred thousand localities weave the territory, translate and incorporate it into broader interpretations of the world.
From this fertile escape unexpected figures of a great power of disorientation. From the Grotte Chauvet to the Palais Ideal or the dwelling in Firminy, some works show a new imaginary depth, exceeding any anchor in a place or any inscription in a time. They break the constraints established. They project beyond. They abuse, overflow, distort, panic. They are guided only by the intuition of another possible, expanding human possibilities and increasing the space of new hypotheses and interpretations. These works create an exogenous, de-territorialized and amnesiac perception that deeply renews and revitalizes the temporal and spatial representations by associating them with unknown textures, tastes and perceptions.
These disconcerting forms, of virulent capacity of disorientation, are somehow an excuse to ask us about orientation. At the anchor of identity and inherited forms, they respond trajectories, fuzzy logics and incalculable turbulences. They first confuse then they slowly ferment the territory.
